Purpose

The purpose of the committee  shall be to act in support of individuals of Special Education programs by representing broad interests in the community and promoting maximum interaction of parents and community members with the Department of Special Education and the School District. The CAC-SE shall achieve its purpose by promoting maximum interaction between parents, community members, teachers, staff, the Department of Special Education, SJUSD administration, the SJUSD Board of Education, the SCCOE and other Local Education Agencies (LEA) who serve students living within the SJUSD boundaries.
 
In achieving this purpose, the Community Advisory Committee shall have such authority and fulfill such responsibilities as are defined for it in the Local Plan, and appropriate legislation.
